Grok Imagine 2.0

The next generation of xAI's model — follows complex prompts more closely, handles text cleanly, and edits images with care

About the model

Grok Imagine 2.0 is the next generation of xAI’s image model. The main difference from the first version is precision: the model follows detailed prompts that combine subject, setting, composition, style, and lettering more closely, and it keeps secondary details as the scene gets more complex.

Text handling has been reworked as well. Posters, infographics, editorial graphics, and illustrated guides get cleaner typography and better-planned layouts, where headlines, captions, and imagery come together as one composition.

Our service offers two modes: text-to-image for generating from scratch and image-to-image for reference-based edits — up to 5 images per request. When editing, the model changes what the prompt asks for and tries to preserve the rest: recognizable features, composition, and details of the source.

Strengths

  • Close prompt following — secondary details don't get lost
  • Clean typography and well-planned layouts for posters and infographics
  • Edits without unnecessary changes to the rest of the image
  • Up to 5 reference images per edit request
  • Consistent characters, environments, and style across a series

Best for

  • Ad posters and promo materials with text
  • Infographics, diagrams, and educational illustrations
  • Product scenes and new surroundings for existing shots
  • Characters and worlds for comics, games, and stories

Limitations

  • Image-to-image mode needs at least one reference image, up to 5
  • Prompt length is limited to 8,000 characters
  • The Spicy artistic mode is not available in version 2.0

Prompting tips

  • List every requirement for the image in one prompt — the model keeps many conditions in mind at once
  • Put in-image text in quotes and say where it belongs in the composition
  • When editing, first name what must stay the same, then what to change
  • For edits, choose the "auto" format to keep the original proportions
